Stations 14, 16 & 21 merged with Pender EMS & Rescue (The current EMS & Rescue
Station 13 operates with paid staff from Pender EMS & Fire and the Maple Hill Volunteer Fire Department responds with them with additional apparatus/personnel
 provider for Pender County) effective July 1 2013 to form Pender EMS & Fire.

Station 12 - Surf City VFD ceased all operations effective 12:01am October 1 2013. 
The Northeast Pender Fire District is now covered by the Town of Surf City FD (Station 23).

Station 19 - Shiloh-Columbia Fire Department ceased all operations effective the first week of June 2024. An agreement with the County and Penderlea Fire Department reopened the station as Station 31.

Pender County has changed apparatus numbering. They now use Engine 13-1, Tanker 13, Brush 17, etc)
The designations below are no longer used.

xx80-xx89 - Brush/Wildland Trucks
xx90-xx99 - Service Vehicles (Utility, Support, Air/Light, Foam, Ladder, Rescue etc)

The Pender EMS & Fire units (Stations 14 16 & 21) as well as Rocky Point (Station 22)
 have changed their apparatus numbering, as well as Rocky Point FD (Station 22).

These numbers are ENGINE xx or ENGINE xx-x. The first part of the number is the 
station number, and if there are multiple types of the same apparatus, the dash 
and the second number is used as well.

FMxx          - Fire Marshal Units. Surf City, Topsail Beach and Burgaw are identified as FM23, FM20, FM15 etc) County units are FM1, FM2 etc)
